The Job / Responsibilities :

Where will you be working ?
The FSMA’s ICT supervision unit is responsible for accompanying the implementation of the European DORA Regulation and verifying, for example by means of inspections, that institutions subject to the FSMA’s supervision apply it correctly.
What will your job entail?
• As an inspector of ICT risks, you will be working on activities relating to the entry into force of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), as regards both the financial sector and the FSMA itself. This European Regulation was adopted at the end of 2022 and will come into force on 17 January 2025. It is intended to increase the cyber resilience of the European financial sector. It lays down the requirements for management of ICT risks, ICT incidents, periodic tests of digital resilience and risk management in cases where it is outsourced to third-party providers.
• You will participate in drawing up an appropriate FSMA supervisory policy as well as in implementing the operational framework of supervision within the FSMA. You will also contribute to assisting financial entities supervised by the FSMA as they implement the new DORA framework, and you will work on improving the digital resilience of the financial sector. In so doing, you will be participating in supervisory activities carried on by the FSMA within the framework of DORA. This will include, among other things, carrying out surveys of digital operational resilience among financial entities under supervision by the FSMA and inspections conducted at those entities.
• You will keep up with recent developments by attending meetings with heads of ICT departments and those in specialized ICT control functions (those responsible for security and for the BCP/DRP, ICT risk managers, etc.) and by conducting internal audit at entities under supervision, including risk analyses of strategic files.
• You will contribute to drawing up prudential policy, methodologies and transversal analyses in the area of ICT by participating in internal, Belgian and international working groups.
• You will be part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team, in the process of development, responsible for a topic that will give you the opportunity to make many contacts with staff members within the various FSMA departments.
Your profile :
What knowledge, experience and skills do you bring?• An engineering degree, a Master’s degree in mathematics and/or ICT, or a Master’s-type training along with an in-depth knowledge of ICT processes and technologies in the financial sector.
• Experience in ICT audit is an asset but not a requirement.
• A methodical approach to the analysis of ICT processes and risks and to offering appropriate solutions.
• An analytical mindset combined with an excellent capacity for synthesis and for logical structuring of oral and written communication as well as the ability to express complex subjects in simple language.
• Adaptability and a good sense of interpersonal relations; you are a team player and can also work independently.
• Efficiency, assertiveness and skill at argumentation.
• Fluency in French and Dutch and a good command of English.
