This is an ambitious mission and in order to accelerate the execution of this strategy and position towards our clients as a credible industry player providing digital and data services, we have decided to create a strategic partnership with a world leading Big-Tech player - Microsoft. Together with Microsoft we will embark on a 7 year journey to co-develop our most strategic client facing digital and data services of the future and modernise our existing platforms and technology. The partnership has been approved by the Euroclear board, is co-sponsored by both the Group Chief Business Officer and the Group Chief Information Officer.
The Digital Transformation team has been central to the establishment of this partnership and is now being expanded to grow the partnership and deliver to Euroclear’s strategic business objectives together with the partner. The team is mandated to take the full responsibility to manage the partnership from a business perspective and to deliver maximum impact to Euroclear’s business by improving time to value from data-enabled services, reimagining the customer experience, and transforming the business and culture to be digital and data-led with clients at the centre.

Role :
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced “New Business Horizons” Director. This is a truly strategic and senior role and will be responsible for identifying and developing new business and commercial opportunities in context of the strategic partnership. In this role you will be expected to drive the process of identifying, funnelling and operationalizing new business ideas into the partnership with the aim of delivering to Euroclear’s strategic objectives across business lines. For this, you will work closely with your manager, and senior counterparts in the business organization to define opportunities to be explored as part of the partnership. You will also need to contribute to efforts between Microsoft and Euroclear to determine opportunities for collaboration with other industry stakeholders. You will drive the effort with partners stakeholders as well as internal senior stakeholders to further ensure that there is a clear scope, ensure there is sufficient market view/problem supporting the need for the initiative, build a financial business case. More importantly you will operationalize the opportunity to a project with Microsoft by ensuring clear definition of how the initiative would be executed, clear business and financial objectives translated into a clear commercial agreement and kick off of the project. Finally, you will setup a process to funnel such initiatives through the governance of the Partnership and ensure clear approvals and handover into the execution of the projects. This role is a transversal role that requires collaborative attitude and influencing skills to be able to advise and drive outcomes without being the business owner themselves. It requires the skills of an excellent senior product leader who not only understands the business and can work with others to identify opportunities , but can also effectively understand how to structure these in context of a digital first partnership and most importantly make it really executable together with our colleagues from IT.

Responsibilities :

• Identify Strategic Opportunities: Collaborate with the business lines to source and identify business opportunities that could create value for both Euroclear and Microsoft. Support and enable business counterparts to evaluate and develop these opportunities further ensuring that there is a clear mission and value creation, alignment with Euroclear multi-year objectives, clarity of potential collaboration with Microsoft (request to build, co-create/partner or buy/license). Ensure the validation of the project with senior management from CBS and the Partnership governance.
• Scouting opportunities outside of Euroclear: Engage and contribute in the joint efforts of Microsoft and Euroclear to reach out to joint clients and participate in business opportunity evaluation and discussions with common clients. Collaborate with Microsoft and Euroclear teams to refine the idea and progress the effort from idea to definition to agreement and then execution through workshops, working sessions and evaluation across senior stakeholders.
• Develop Business Cases: Lead or enable the development robust financial and strategic business cases for proposed initiatives by working together with business owners and their teams, ensuring they are supported by clear market demands/insights and are contributing to achieving our strategic multi-year goals. Ensure joint business case development with Microsoft teams to accurately determine overall investment and ongoing run costs vs upside potential. Present the business case together with the business teams to senior management for validation and approval
• Operationalize Initiatives: Translate identified opportunities into concrete projects by defining execution plans, setting clear business and financial objectives, and working with the program team to setup up the correct working cadence and governance with the Microsoft team. Work together with the partnership commercial lead and business stakeholders lead to negotiate and formalize the commercial agreement with Microsoft. Commercial and partnership agreements could also involve potential third parties ie our clients, other infrastructures or digital platforms or technology service providers. Work with the commercial lead to ensure that Euroclear’s business goals are met.
• Manage Project Kick-Off: Oversee the initiation of projects, ensuring that all necessary approvals are secured, budgets and agreements are signed, clear execution plan is agreed by both teams and that there is a clear transition from planning to execution stages.
• Setup the Ideation funnel: Establish a clear and transparent processes of funnelling opportunities from ideation to development to execution. Ensure that opportunities are sufficiently discussed and validated via CBS Mgmt., Internal Euroclear Governance, Partnership Governance.
• Influence and Advise: Utilize strong influencing skills to guide and advise business units and senior leadership, ensuring that initiatives are prioritized and executed effectively without direct ownership.
• Monitor and Support: Track the progress of projects and provide guidance and advise in the execution of projects on a need basis.
• Foster a Digital Culture: Advocate for and help instill a digital and data-centric mindset within Euroclear, driving cultural change and enhancing the overall digital maturity of the organization.

Votre profil :

Profile and Skills :

• Experience in leading, creating and managing products in a securities services or post-trade context is essential.
• A good understanding of Euroclear’s businesses, products and business strategy is a big plus.
• Candidate should possess a strong ability to think strategically, understand business dynamics, leverage market insights and identify opportunities that could meet Euroclear’s business objectives and make the partnership successful.
• The candidate must also possess strong financial analysis and modelling skills in order to perform financial analyses for the purpose of assisting in the exploration of strategic options and creating a business case.
• The candidate would be adept at working with a partner to deliver outcomes and would know how to manage partner expectations, engagement and performance.
• Ability to learn new use cases and contribute to its development together with the business team. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment is needed.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business lines, cross-functional teams, the partners and stakeholders to drive outcomes is a must. Strong leadership, influence, negotiation and relationship management skills are important. Candidate will require to provide leadership , direction and drive without direct ownership.
• The candidate should be a proactive and results-driven individual with excellent hands-on problem-solving and product creation skills. They should be adaptable, able to navigate complex environments, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to present complex business topics in a simple yet compelling and effective manner to stakeholders and senior management to drive clear recommendation and steering is required.
• Experience structuring the product into executable actions and plans is required. Excellent project management and structuring skills are needed to help the teams move from idea to execution.
• Strong understanding of Euroclear’s business, strategic objectives and what it means to drive the strategy to execution.
• Eagerness and willingness to learn new skills related to digital and digital transformation is needed.
• Bachelor's or Masters degree in Business Administration or related business fields is a plus.
